Just little over a week ago we held the first Joshua Lee Warren Memorial Battle of the Shields. Well we didn't come home as the firefighter challenge champions. But you as a community represented EL3FD very well. A huge thanks to Lori Haas, Kelly Singleton and the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas for helping us collect not our goal of 40 units but 48 units of blood. We had 59 people sign up to give and for many reasons out of our control we did manage 48 units of blood. East Lincoln wins the title with 26, Lincoln County Sheriff Office with 8, Lincoln County EMS with 5, Alexis, Denver and Huntersville each with 3, Boger City with 2, Sherrills Ford, Pumpkin Center, NCSHP with 1 a piece. We will also mention Phoenix Physical Therapy had 2 donors. The Champion plaque was provided by GB Shields which is located across from Base 2 on Commerce Drive. We would like to thank Greg and Angela for their outstanding work on these plaques. Thanks to Diana Rugg with WCNC-TV for giving us the lime light at 6:00 am in morning.
